SemGroup, L.P., is a midstream service company providing the energy industry means to move products from the wellhead to the wholesale marketplace. SemGroup provides diversified services for end users and consumers of crude oil, natural gas, natural gas liquids, refined products and asphalt. They needed assistance implementing a total redesign of their corporate site and 14 division sites from static sites to content-managed Sites and they needed it done on an aggressive timeline. Roundedcube, with our extensive CMS and Sitecore know-how, came to the rescue, working closely with SemGroup’s IT department to transfer Sitecore knowledge on the fly. In addition, with our web design capabilities, we consulted with them to correct and complete their provided designs.
Challenge
The biggest challenge was the one-month turnaround time. With all the divisions and the massive amount of content to transfer and share between them, not to mention that they had to be content-managed and multilingual, we knew that the project as a whole would be a considerable challenge. In addition, it would not be a typical CMS implementation because this project required complex Sitecore behavior and business rules.
Solution
Our Sitecore experts worked closely together, in parallel with SemGroup’s IT team, to define the complicated business rules, develop the solution’s specifications, and develop on the fly to meet the aggressive timeline. And while handling all of that, they also were in constant communication with SemGroup’s IT department to make sure that the hand-off to deployment was as seamless as possible.
